Monthly Meetings -
2012 monthly meeting will be held at the Avondale Community Pride Center, located at 3520
Burnet Ave
.  Meeting months are February, March, September, October, November and
December.

The Club Picnic Outing
The 2012 annual club picnic will be June 23, 2012 in Season Good Park located at Dana
Avenue and Reading Road.   As is our custom, a run/walk  will begin at 10:00 AM to work up a
good appetite.  Picnic fare will be provided by club members.  Friends and volunteers who work
the Flying Pig Marathon fluid station are cordially invited to join us for a great time.

National Black Marathoner's Annual Event
ARC is a proud member of the National Black Marathoner's Association. We've had great
experiences and look forward to the 2012 event.  Check the NBMA site for details and register to
join the fun.

Flying Pig Marathon Fluid Station
ARC is a reliable and enthusiastic volunteer for the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon.  We staff two
stations near WCPO - TV channel 9.  The club continues to refine our efforts.  We received first
place award for enthusiasm in 2006 and 2008, with a second place awards in 2007, 2009, 2011
and third place in 2010.   We eagerly await the 2012 Pig!  Kudos to all our members, volunteers,
DJ Bob Humphries, and local recording artist
Lovechild who make it happen!
If you want to volunteer to join our great fluid station crew in 2012 send us a
note  and we'll sign
you up.

Community Support
The Club joined Harmony Gardens to sponsor 23 ladies participation in the 2009 Fleet feet Lady
Distance Classic.  The
AYC girls won 1st place in the club division.  The club also organized and
lead a
5K fitness walk to kick off the annual Avondale Community Festival and Health Fair.  The
club again supported State Senator Eric Kearney in his annual walk from Cincinnati to Columbus
to highlight children's health.  We supported YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Youth Achiever
scholarship fund.
See Photos of the evening.    We sponsor trophies for the Avondale Chiefs
youth T-ball participants.  ARC supported
Teen Pageant for several years.

Walkers
The CLUB walkers will continue to gather every second, third and fourth Saturday morning at 7:30
AM at beautiful
Glenwood Gardens. The layout of the park allows for walking at a different paces
without loosing contact with the group.   The first Saturday will find us at beautiful Spring Grove
Cemetery and Arboretum for one of the three challenging courses there. Or you can walk a
selected
route in the Avondale neighborhood.  Check the club calendar and come join us for a
brisk 45 to 50 minute walk.  During inclement weather the walkers head for one of the local malls
for
Mall Walking.

Runners
The CLUB runners gather every Sunday morning at a different location.  See the club calendar
for locations in Eden Park Overlook,
Glenwood Gardens, Lunken Airport, Mt. Airy Forest, Sharon
Woods and Winton Woods.  Come join ARC runners for a couple of hours on some interesting
courses.
